નિંદા કરવાથી બચો કારણ કે નિંદા વ્યભિચાર કરતાંય ગંભીર છે; ખરેખર એક માણસ વ્યભિચાર કરે, પછી પસ્તાવો કરી લે તો ઈશ્વર તેનો પસ્તાવો સ્વીકારી લે છે જ્યારે કે નિંદા કરનાર ત્યાર સુધી માફ કરવામાં નથી આવતો જ્યાર સુધી તે જેની તેણે નિંદા કરી છે તેની માફી ન માગી લે.
Beware of backbiting, for backbiting is graver than adultery; a person may commit adultery and repent, and God accepts his repentance, whereas the backbiter is not forgiven until the person he backbit forgives him.
જે માણસ પોતાના કોઈ શ્રદ્ધાળુ ભાઈની સામે તેની પ્રશંસા કરે છે અને (પછી) તેની પીઠ પાછળ તેની નિંદા કરે છે તો તેઓ બંનેની વચ્ચેનો પવિત્ર સંબંધ તૂટી જાય છે.
Whoever praises his fellow believer to his face and backbites him behind his back breaks the sacred bond between them.
જેણે શરમનો પડદો ફેંકી દીધો તેની પીઠ પાછળ બુરાઈ ગણાતી નથી.

શંકામાં રહેનારમાં કોઈ શ્રદ્ધા નથી અને નિંદા કરનારમાં કોઈ માણસાઈ નથી.
There is no faith in one filled with doubt, and no humanity in one who backbites.
જે માણસની સામે તેના શ્રદ્ધાળુ ભાઈની નિંદા થતી હોય, અને તે તેનો બચાવ ન કરે, જ્યારે કે તે તેનો બચાવ કરી શકતો હોય, તો તે માણસ સુધી દુનિયા અને પરલોકમાં તે શ્રદ્ધાળુનું પાપ પહોંચી જાય છે.
If a person hears his fellow believer being backbitten in his presence and does not defend him while capable of doing so, the burden of that sin reaches him in this world and the hereafter.
