ઈશ્વર પાસે જે કંઈ છે તે પામી શકાતું નથી સિવાય કે તેની આજ્ઞાપાલન વડે.

ઈશ્વરની આજ્ઞાપાલનમાં કંઈપણ એવું નથી જેમાં માણસ અણગમો અનુભવતો ન હોય.
There is nothing in obedience to God that a person does not feel some reluctance toward.
ક્યારેય નહીં! ઈશ્વર પોતાના સ્વર્ગ વિષે છેતરતો નથી, અને ન તો તેનો રાજીપો તેની આજ્ઞાપાલન વગર પામી શકાય છે.
Never! God cannot be deceived regarding His paradise, nor can His pleasure be attained except through obedience to Him.

એક માણસે એક જ્ઞાની પુરુષને લખ્યું: મને તમારા જ્ઞાનમાંથી કાંઈક આપો. એટલે તેમણે તેને જવાબમાં લખ્યું: જ્ઞાન તો ઘણુંય છે, પણ તું એટલું કરજે કે જો તારાથી શક્ય હોય તો જેને તું ચાહે એની સાથે દુર્વ્યવહાર ન કરતો. એ માણસે પૂછ્યું: શું તમને લાગે છે કે કોઈ માણસ એની જ સાથે દુર્વ્યવહાર કરી શકે કે જેને તે ચાહતો હોય? તો તેમણે જવાબ આપ્યો: હા, તું તારા પોતાના આત્માને બીજા કરતાં વધારે ચાહે છે, તોય જ્યારે પણ તું ઈશ્વરની આજ્ઞાનું ઉલ્લંઘન કરે છે ત્યારે તેની સાથે દુર્વ્યવહાર કરે છે.
A man wrote to a wise man: "Share some knowledge with me." The wise man replied: "Knowledge is abundant, but if you can, do not mistreat the one you love." The man asked: "Do you think anyone would mistreat someone they love?" He answered: "Yes, you love your own self more than anyone else, yet whenever you disobey God, you mistreat it."
