બુદ્ધિ એટલે પાપથી બચવું, (તેના આચરણ પછીના) પરિણામ ઉપર ચિંતન કરવું અને (તેને ન આચરવાનો) દૃઢ સંકલ્પ (કરવો).

બુદ્ધિ એટલે દુઃખને પી જવું, અને દુશ્મનો સાથે મીઠી વાતચીત કરવી.
